The book of Acts sees the explosion of faith in Jesus from a small sect based in Jerusalem to the ends of the earth. It is the book where the church is born and we are given an insight into the life of the early church community. We are given lots of insight to what the believers did, such as breaking bread, gathering at the temple and in homes, and prayer. But one of the most important words in this section is the word ‘together’. All these things they did together. Not as individuals, keeping their faith, to themselves but with each other having everything in common. Community is about being together with those around us, sharing all of life; the ups and the downs. Together.
